GOGO Sarah Buta, aged 100, is making a heartfelt appeal for assistance to finish her five-room house in Winterveld, Tshwane.

Speaking to Daily Sun, she expressed her deep desire to see her home completed before she dies.

"I cannot rest in peace if I leave this world without seeing my house finished," she shared.

The current state of her old house is dire, especially during unfavourable weather conditions.

"When it rains, it feels as though I'm outside, and it's unbearably cold," Gogo Sarah explained.

She's calling for a Good Samaritan to help her complete essential sections of the house, including roofing, plastering, windows, doors, and flooring. Construction began in 2022, but progress has stalled due to financial difficulties.

"No one in the household is employed, making it difficult to buy the necessary materials," she said.

Gogo said she lives with her grandson and great-granddaughter, who depend on her grant money.

“My happiest moment will be to die once I've lived in a beautiful house I call my own. It'll be a dream house but looking at it like this it pains me," she said.

Gogo Sarah also mentioned that she has never applied for an RDP house. She said as winter approaches, she's worried because she doesn't have enough blankets to keep herself warm.

Phindile Buta, her 27-year-old great-granddaughter, expressed her distress over their inability to complete gogo's house.

She said the stress from living in inadequate housing caused her great-grandmother to suffer from high-blood pressure.

"We're not working and can't afford to finish the house. We're appealing to anyone who can help us finish it," Phindile said.

Dorie Buta (59), gogo Sarah's grandson, also shared his wish to see his gogo in her dream home.

"It's painful to see an old person struggle like this, especially when it rains and in winter," he said.
