Little Keeya Mbulawa died after she was abducted, strangled, and poisoned on 13 January in Protea Glen extension 1.

KEEYA Mbulawa’s murder suspect will make her first court appearance in the Protea Glen Magistrates Court on Friday, 1 March.

Little Keeya was abducted, strangled, and poisoned on 13 January in Protea Glen extension 1, Soweto.

She was later found stashed inside a suitcase with her hands tied and a sock stashed inside her mouth.

Keeya (4) fought for her life in the life support machine and unfortunately succumbed to the injuries.

The suspect was arrested in Protea Glen on Wednesday, 28 February.

With the suspect expected to appear in court, the family of the little girl is not ready to forgive as the pain is still new.

When Daily Sun asked if the family would consider forgiving the suspect, family spokesman Advocate Miller Moela said the family is not thinking about forgiveness but justice for little Keeya.

“Unfortunately, an apology will not bring back the child. Yes, it’s a Christian and a forgiving family, but I can assure you that the wound runs very deep. The family might forgive, but not now.

"They are still hurting. She needs to plead guilty to what she has done and explain what happened. Maybe after doing that, the family can consider forgiving, I'm not sure,” he said.

Moela said the family was happy the suspect had been arrested.

“The family is also apprehensive of the fact that it will have to go to court and face somebody known to the family who has killed their child. This child used to call the suspect aunty.

"The suspect was like a mother to this child. The family has now to face somebody they stayed with,” he added.

The advocate said that the family is not ready to face this matter but is forced to, and it's hard for them.

“It will take time for the family to recover from this."

He said that the family would like to know why and how the child was killed by someone they would leave with their child to take care of since they stayed in the same homestead.
