THE funeral service of Rand Water boss Teboho Joala who died in a hail of bullets will take place today in Heartfelt Arena, Tshwane.
Joala was killed on 29 January on what is speculated to be a hit during a school shoes and uniform handout event in Zakariyya Park.
On Thursday, 1 February his co-workers and ANC members gathered to pay their respects at the memorial service.
During the service, different speakers described him as a selfless man who loved and enjoyed helping people.

The ANC in Gauteng had since said that they view the shooting that took place at Zakarriya Park as a calculated, cold-blooded murder and an unforgivable crime that visited the people of Gauteng and South Africa on the morning of 29 January.
They said they further view it as an open declaration of war against the authority of the state by criminals.
“We view this heinous crime as an open declaration of war as it took place in broad daylight in the presence of hundreds of young learners and their teachers,” they said.
Joala’s bodyguard was also killed in the incident
