TSHEPO "Makhekhe" Tau, who came second in Big Brother Mzansi season 4, has revealed his next move.

The Big Brother star is planning to register his non-governmental organisation that is aimed at helping orphaned children.

"Growing up as an orphan can be challenging and emotionally difficult for the young ones.

"Children who grow up without parents feel abandoned, lost and lonely. They also struggle with issues relating to self-esteem, identity and forming healthy relationships," said Makhekhe.

Speaking at the Makoya Shandis Roof Top event in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday, 4 May, Makhekhe (28) said he wants to be the voice of the voiceless.

He said his organisation will work hand-in-hand with communities to ensure that children get the support they need.

Makhekhe from Katlehong in Ekurhuleni said he has visited local schools to motivate children.

"I grew up without parents. I know the pain of kids who don't have parents. Without guidance and support of parents, children navigate important life milestones and making decisions on their own."

Makhekhe said it's important to note that many children who grow up without parents are resilient and can thrive with the support of other family members, mentors, and community resources.

"I believe, through the organisation, many children will get comfort and be motivated to strive for success.

"At the moment, I'm visiting schools in and around Ekurhuleni to motivate pupils to focus on their education and be positive," Makhekhe said.

He thanked Bakers, a local business, for supporting him which will help him achieve his goal of making a difference in young people.

Said Bakers' member Lebohang Ngwana from Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni: "Makhekhe has made his mark when he was in BBM. Now, we're going to support him all the way.

"For him to open an NGO that will help the youth shows he's a community builder. All he needs is our support to realise his dream of helping the children in Ekurhuleni," Ngwana said.
