SOUTH AFRICANS have witnessed the ANC's theatrical performances for years, where truth is but a secondary character to the grand production of political survival.
The party's ability to twist reality has long been a staple in its playbook, leaving citizens to decipher the smoke and mirrors of deceit. However, the recent admission by ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula that the party lied to shield former president Jacob Zuma a decade ago raises eyebrows no higher than the Nkandla “fire pool” ever did.
