AMEIGH Thompson has finally made her debut on the Real Housewives of Durban, and she can’t wait to tell her story.

Since the announcement that she is joining the Showmax show, people on social media have been expecting nothing but drama.

Her ex-husband is in a relationship with former Real Housewives of Durban star Londie London.

She has also been accused of previously faking a hijacking.

During the most recent episode, the housewives were playing a game of guessing, and one of them brought up the story about Ameigh allegedly faking a hijacking.

The episode ended before she could respond.

Ameigh (30) from Lamontville, KZN told Daily Sun that she’s tired of people telling her story as they know it.

“It was very important for me to correct the narrative people have about my life. There are so many different stories and I decided I'd tell my own story my way. Also, I'm not ashamed of my story. I'm not what happened to me. I don’t like acting as a victim.

“So, I knew I'd rewrite my story through the show. I thought I’ve got nothing to lose. It’s my story. There’s no better person to tell it than myself. Everybody will hear it from the horse’s mouth. I don’t care about how people will come at me about it. It’s my story,” she said.

Ameigh said the show helped her heal.

“For me, it was a part of healing. You see people sharing their own narratives of your story, and you get angry because they don’t know you. I see them on social media. They are confident when telling my story when they don’t know it. So, this show played a huge role in helping me heal,” Ameigh said.

But she had a bit of a challenge when making friends with her fellow cast members.

“From the first season, I liked Sorisha because I loved her calm aura. And that’s not necessarily because I wanted to be friends with her. I don’t make friends easily, so it was so hard for me to open up.

"I came in with Slee, and I stuck with. I had no interest in making new friendships because I was trying to avoid betrayal. I’ve got this thing where I say we can be friends, but from a distance,” she said.
