THE Freedom Day event which American rapper DaBaby was supposed to headline has been postponed.
Organisers of the event, Pro Magic released a statement on Friday, 26 April to confirm that the event, which was set to take place at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Joburg on Saturday, 27 April, wouldn't take place anymore.
They said the postponement was a result of not getting the support they had anticipated.
"We would further like to confirm that our final event and celebration, the Freedom Day Youth Celebration, is postponed. This event was to take place on the 27 April 2024 at Mary Fitzgerald Square Joburg, and it is for unfortunate reasons that we have to postpone this event due to our lack of ticket sales and support of the event," the statement read.
The event was initially set to be a four-day event that would kick off on Wednesday, 24 April, ending on Saturday, 27 April with the event.
However, the rest of the event is set to continue as planned.
