ON Tuesday, 16 April 2024, we published a story with the headline: "Teacher's 'killers' fight for bail."

The story is about Dr Tumelo Ntholeng, who is one of the four people accused for the murder of his ex-wife.

In that story, we erroneously stated that Dr Ntholeng works for the medical NGO Doctors Without Borders. Instead of verifying this information as given to us by one of the relatives of the accused, we stated it as fact.

We would like to retract that statement and unreservedly apologise to the NGO. It was not our aim to deliberately associate their name with that of a person accused of a serious crime as murder.
