THE African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) leader, Collen Malatji, has criticised parties not in government for making unrealistic promises.
Speaking at a media briefing in Joburg on Thursday, 2 May, Malatji discussed the ANC Manifesto's relevance to young people and highlighted the ANC-led government's achievements since democracy began.
He described the manifestos of other political parties as deceptive, aiming to mislead their supporters.
"Consider the EFF manifesto, which is like a wish list offering free money at every turn and supports illegal immigrants, misleading our people," he said.
"The DA manifesto lacks concrete solutions and pushes a false narrative of good governance. Given their poor governance in the Tshwane Municipality, marked by over R1 billion in irregular spending, the DA's plans seem designed for a minority and cater to neo-liberalist white racists," Malatji stated.

He criticised their crime-fighting promises as inconsistent with the crime and inequality in the provinces they govern.
"I don't even want to start on the uMkhonto Wesizwe Party. It's essentially a one-man show with no manifesto or principles, just angry individuals rejected by the ANC's renewal process," he added.
Malatji emphasised that their manifesto advocates for a total economic transformation and the realisation of the Freedom Charter, aiming for a fair society where the country's wealth and land are shared among its inhabitants.
He also mentioned their manifesto's focus on economic freedom and social transformation through six pillars to enhance the lives of South Africa's youth.
