THE founder of the Umkhonto weSizwe Party (MK), Jabulani Khumalo, has been fired from the party.
This decision came after a meeting of the national leadership.
On Friday evening, 26 April, MK spokesman Nhlamulo Ndhlela announced the party's decision to expel "rogue elements" to safeguard its integrity.
Khumalo, along with four other members, was expelled.
"During a meeting of the National Leadership Core, considering the attempts by external forces to destabilize the MK party, which aims to advance a people's revolution, we decided to expel the following comrades: Jabulani Khumalo, whom President (Jacob) Zuma had asked to register the party on his behalf, Ray Khumalo, Bheki Manzini, Lebo Moepeng, and Rochelle Davidson, also known as Gogo Mahlalentabeni," Ndhlela explained.
He emphasised that the national leadership would always act in the best interest of all South Africans seeking change. Former president Jacob Zuma, addressing MK members in the Joburg High Court on 11 April, warned those with ambitions for power within the party.
Speaking in isiZulu after his private prosecution of President Cyril Ramaphosa, he highlighted the internal struggle for positions, stating: "We are all interim. No one has a position. We are working as volunteers from MK. Those fighting for positions will never get them. They will get to know me better when I have won."

Zuma mentioned the party's mission to rebuild South Africa, which he believes is broken under Ramaphosa's government.
Additionally, the party dismissed its interim youth league president, Bonginkosi Khanyile, and his deputy, Thapelo Maisha, along with interim secretary-general Gaan Cibane and Gauteng provincial coordinator Philani "Gazuzu" Nduli.
Their dismissal were effective from Wednesday, 9 April.
Ndhlela called on all MK members to remain disciplined and trust the leadership as they strive to build support for a campaign aimed at freeing the oppressed people in the country.
