After their early exit from the CAF Champions League this season, Orlando Pirates have sights set on making a return to the competition to write some wrongs.

Booted out of the competition in the early stages of this season by Botswana Premier League champions Jwaneng Galaxy, Pirates have put themselves in a good position to finish second on the DSTV Premiership table again, with a good run of form over the last few weeks.

They do, however, need to make sure that they do not slip up, with second-placed Stellenbosch FC currently in the form of their lives. Stellies are three points ahead of third-placed Pirates and are determined to make club history by qualifying for a continental showpiece.

Pirates, though, will not give up without a fight and will be working hard to grind out results, with Royal AM next on their schedule after narrowly beating AmaZulu 1-0 last weekend.

The Buccaneers are away to Royal AM this Sunday, looking to overcome a side that still has hope of finishing in the top eight. The Soweto giants will no doubt be aware of the threat posed by Royal AM and will do everything in their power to enhance their chances of finishing as runners-up, with Mamelodi Sundowns comfortably in a position to lift the Premiership title yet again.

“We need to collect as many points as we can to take the club to Africa. To be honest, we need these points. We want to play in Africa,” Hotto said to the Siya crew.
