FLOODS have left at least five people dead in northern Mozambique.
More than 50 people have been injured and over 1 100 houses destroyed in Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Tete and Zambezia provinces.
The total population directly affected is estimated at 10 000 people.
A key bridge over, Montepuez River, has been washed away, cutting off access to 11 districts.
Mozambique is experiencing above-normal rainfall, causing flooding in the north.
