RING of Lies actor has died. 

The Soweto-born actor Mpho Sebeng died after he had an accident in Potchefstroom on Sunday, May 5. 

His family released a statement confirming the news.

“The family of the South Africa entertainer, Mpho Sebeng are saddened to confirm, to the public and media that their son has indeed passed away. Mpho met his untimely death in the early hours of Sunday, 5 May due to a tragic car accident in Potchefstroom.

"While the family appreciates the immense outpouring of love and condolences, the family requests some space to process the news. Details of his home going celebrations will be communicated in due course and we request that you continue to hold the Sebeng family in prayer,” read the statement.

Media personality, Zola Hashatsi also broke the news on social media.

“It is with a sad, deep, painful heart to announce the passing of a young brother, friend I took in to replace us when we exited @craze_tv, a thespian that was @mpho_sebeng he was in car accident this morning around Klerksdorp, this one hurts and I'm not okay. 

"His star was only beginning to shine. What a loss. He was only 30 years young. I'll send more info, as times go, will be with the family this week. Please note I note I'm not taking any calls,” wrote Zola.

Mpho, who has spent well over a decade in the industry, has appeared on shows such as The Throne, Zero ToleranceSoul BuddyzZ'bondiwe, Ring of Lies, Collision and The Jakes Are Missing.

 He also started his own clothing label called Love Luse.

The actor previously told Daily Sun that all the characters he has played before stood out for him.  

“I was telling stories of real-life people, so each and every character stood out,” he said.  

“I’ve always wanted to get to a point where I can express myself fully and be a mouthpiece for the voiceless."
