THE ANC’S eThekwini regional secretary who is facing charges related to reckless and negligent driving and driving a car with no number plates is due back in court on Tuesday, 16 March.
The regional secretary, Musa Nciki, will be appearing in the Durban Magistrates Court together with his co-accused and bodyguard, Ivan Khoza.
This will be their third appearance since they were arrested in Durban North after they were caught on 6 March 2024 driving an unlicensed car.
It's alleged that they were also carrying weapons without permits.
In their first appearance on 7 March, they were granted bail of R5000 each.
In their previous appearance, on 10 April, they made a very brief appearance and the matter was postponed to 16 April.
It was postponed in order for their lawyers to make representations to the senior public prosecutor about road traffic violation charges that they are facing.

Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said Bongumusa Nciki and Ivan Khoza face charges of reckless driving, alternatively, disregard for a road traffic signal (a red traffic signal), and operating an unlicensed vehicle.
She said the state is alleging that the men were driving along Lighthouse Road in Umhlanga on 6 March 2024, when they allegedly committed the offences.
Nciki is a former ANC Youth League treasurer. He was elected to the position at the party's regional conference at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Conference Centre.
He is a supporter of former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede, who faces fraud and corruption charges. Gumede was elected chairperson of the region.
