Following a three-year hiatus from the sidelines, the legendary French manager is believed to be closing in on a spectacular return and, according to Mundo Deportivo, it will be with German giants Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians are parting ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season, and after their two main targets, Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann, decided to prolong their respective stays in their current positions, Die Roten have swiftly moved on to their next candidate.
Negotiations are believed to have moved rapidly, with the same report claiming that only minor details need sorting out before the Marseille native puts pen to paper on a contract.
It is said that while Zidane believes Bayern possess all the characteristics he is looking for in a club he would like to manage, he has demanded that their main focus in the transfer market be in defensive reinforcements.
