IT SEEMS rapper AKA has gone back to work after losing his fiancee, Anele “Nelli” Tembe on 11 April.

AKA was spotted out and about with Prince Kaybee and Kaybee’s girlfriend Zola Mhlongo last week.

Zola posted pictures of herself, Kaybee and AKA and captioned them “Strength to you Kiernan”.

The trio was apparently in Bloemfontein, Free State, shooting an ad.

He is also set to headline the Haiweil Joburg Day 2021 virtual concert on Friday, 28 May.

AKA had taken a break from working and on social media since his fiancee passed.

Nellie died on 11 April after allegedly falling from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town.

A few weeks after the incident, AKA released a statement saying he is heartbroken.

“I have lost the love of my life... and every day feels like a mountain to climb. I miss Anele so much, and I’m heartbroken at the unfulfilled life we had planned together,” he wrote.

The Finessin’ rapper said it’s difficult because people have been accusing him of playing a part in Anele’s death, but said he will be retreating and attending counselling sessions

“The tragic loss of Anele has taken a great toll on me, emotionally and psychologically. Insinuations and innuendos made on my personhood have made it even more difficult to process and the strain our families have taken is unspeakable – which is why at this time I choose to retreat to honour my journey, praying that the momenta of stillness may bring me closer to some clarity,” the statement continued.

While people on social media speculated that she was struggling from depression, Anele’s dad Moses Tembe said that wasn’t the case.

During her funeral, her dad wrote a letter which explained that Anele wasn’t suffering from depression.

The SunTeam reached out to AKA’s team to find out if he was officially returning to work, but they didn’t respond to our enquiry.
