SENSATIONAL Soweto-born producer Setoke Mbatha, known as DJ Stokie from Orlando West, awaits greener pastures.
This after being nominated for the Metro FM Awards for the very first time.
He told Daily Sun that he has been in the music game for more than 25 years.
The Superman hitmaker explained that passion and patience are the tools that paved the way for him.
“When you do something that you love, everything will come together. I believe in timing. If it’s not your time, it’s not. Just keep on praying and believing in your work,” he said.
He explained that the people he worked with today are the same people who believed in him and supported him before he became famous.
“My wife guided me, and she was and still is supportive from day one, telling me everything will come together. Even today, she is still my fan. The team I work with are my fans and I do everything knowing that I have support backing me up,” he said.
DJ Stokie has been nominated for the Metro Awards for Best Amapiano and Best Song of the Year.

The awards will be on Saturday, 27 April in Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga.
He said he believes he will bring one award back to ekasi.
“These are my first Metro nominees for me ever since I started music. I'm excited. These are big awards. Hopefully, I will come with one of the awards because I believe my fans are voting. I will bring one to Soweto."
DJ Stokie mentioned that his fans can expect new music from him.
He said his new EP is ready and will drop in June.
He also touched on international gigs.
“I'm proud to say there is growth. The way I play overseas is the same way I play ekasi, and they appreciate it. At first, it was difficult because they thought amapiano was TikTok music. Now when they book me, they know what kind of music I play," he said.
